Back from our September vacations in Germany and Israel, Peter and I recently visited our neighborhood favorites Dolce de Palma, Vagabondi and Rhythm Cafe.  Since we send so many of our guests to these 3 restaurants, it was re-assuring to experience such excellence at all three.

With it’s expanded dining room, Dolce de Palma continues to serve delectable borderline-gourmet Mediterranean cuisine to a hip mixed crowd.  Starting next Thursday (October 14th),  local celebrity newspaper columnist Frank Cerabino will be playing the accordion in the dining room every 2 weeks from 7 – 10pm to provide some traditional italian music….and maybe some humor?  We’ll see!

The tiny restaurant Vagabondi continues to impress crowds with a wonderful menu, especially known for the pasta dishes.  The Veal Saltimbocca, which was served with a light caper sauce, was also incredible! The dining room was full with a smart looking crowd and there was a line at the door. Folks, if you want to eat in this restaurant, plan ahead and make reservations because we predict that it will be very difficult to get a table at Vagabondi this season!

Rhythm Cafe, a local perennial favorite, never dissapoints.  Freshly prepared meals with friendly service in a fun environment.  The desserts are also yummy!  Next Thursday, October 14th, there will be a Fess Parker wine tasting evening, complete with a prix fix menu. Rhythm Cafe will be open again on Sundays for the Season beginning in November.
